Dabosa Dabdaba

Dabdaba - waterfalls
The pouring rains, the stop overs for chai, pakora's, the lush green replanted paddy fields and the innumerable little canals with their miniature artificial waterfalls, the children enjoying the rains, the bullocks ploughing the fields....nature at one of its wondrous times - inspirational & refreshing!
On the way back we stopped over at an adivasi Warli artist's workshop and picked up quite a few items of  Warli.

26th Jan’1996

I am taken back to a time, 15 years to the day – thinking about that day gives me a lot to regret even today!

A day I wasted sitting at the barracks along with Deepa, Prasanna and Farhana. The day I opted out to stay back since I was miffed at not being selected to march on the Rajpath.

I was part of the Andhra Pradesh NCC contingent representing the State in the Girls Battalion in 1996. It was a prestigious thing for any NCC cadet to be representing the state at the National Republic Day Camp.

My regret at not having gone to witness the grand spectacle that our Republic Day presents – just for the reason that I did not get selected to march on hallowed ground. What a waste! What a shame!

I have decided to admit this fact (known to none!) and hopefully not consume myself in guilt in the further years to come.
